|Product Version||1.9.19.01 (1.9.19 fixes)|
|Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0008775: Bulk set of users with admin role to leaders|
|Description||Dear TestLink support,|
Since on the current Testlink version regular users cannot have admin privileges on specific projects we would like to set all our users with this privileges (inherited from old TestLink versions) to role leader.
As such we have developed the 2 queries below as to make it an easier and faster task:
update user_testproject_roles set role_id = 9 where role_id = 8 and user_id <> 1;
update user_testplan_roles set role_id = 9 where role_id = 8 and user_id <> 1;
Note: User_id 1 is admin and role_id 9 is leader while role_id 8 is admin.
Can you please validate this method and respective query.
Moreover is there a way for regular users to add and configure roles of users inside a given project/plan? Or this has to be done always by the admin user?

these are questions that may be can be solved reading the manual or doing some experiments => mantis is not the place => use forum.testlink.org to ask for other user's help.
Time available is limited to provide this kind of support.
Time is used to fix issues or implement new features.
This can be considered training => if you need one you can buy it.
Before adding here the question here I obviously did my share of investigation. Found nothing. My bad most likely.
Didn't event found and updated Testlink Manual.
In any case the most relevant on the issue is the inconsistency of having users with non allowed roles after we upgraded TL 1.9.14 into TL 1.9.19 => upgrade bug => report at Mantis.
Can you please confirm provided solution or provide one?
