Summary0008354: integration between testlink 1.9.14 and Mantis 2.5.1 (Interface: db)
DescriptionI have an issue with the integration between TestLink and Mantis BT. The connection type which I was trying to configure is the "mantis (interface: db)" and I must say that in this scenario the Mantis and Testlink are installed in two different machines, but they're able to reach eachother.

The problem is that on Testlink when I try to execute a test case it shows an error message:
Attention Please:
Something is preventing connection to Bug Tracking System,
and is going to create performance issues.
Please contact your TestLink Administrator.

And as expected the green "bug" button is not appearing on the test case.

My advice is:
1) Upgrade from 1.9.14 to 1.9.17
2) Use SOAP Integration and NOT DB integration

Anyway, you need to be sure that MySQL on MantisBT Box is configured to allow access to MySQL users from testlink host.
You will find info about the MySQL security on MySQL site.

1) Is there any manual/guide with all the steps to proceed with the upgrade from the current version (1.9.14) to a newer one (1.9.17)?

2) This upgrade process could affect the current DB and his own integrity (data)?

1) The README file provided with any TestLink version provides all instructions
2) Do not do this directly in your production environment.
AFAIK no effects on data integrity
