|Product Version||1.9.10 (2014 Q1 - bug fixing)|
|Fixed in Version||1.9.13 (2015 #1)|
|Summary||0006435: Build assignment to made available at execution time|
|Description||Test case assignment is generally a restricted activity which happens at test planning and build generation happens once or twice a week hence each time test case assignment has to be done whenever a new build has arrived, it will be good if the workflow is like this:|
Test case assignment is independent of build.
Build parameter should be included at test case execution time through a drop down menu from the available active/open builds.

unfortunately your explanation is not clear for me.
Please provide a very detailed example
Sorry for not being so clear in putting my words, so let me put it once again.
The current implementation of build management is per test-plan and a build is assigned per test case at the time of test case assignment to individual tester/users which is having a limitation, in case a new build arrival rate is high in such a case the test manager/lead has to re-assign the test cases each time a new build has arrived thereby increasing the overhead of re-assigning the test-cases with arrival of each build. In order to address this I am proposing a solution as below:
The build selection per test-case should be done at the time of test-case execution in place of test-case assignment.
The build can be selected from a drop-down menu from the available active builds.
I hope I am clear this time.
>> The current implementation of build management is per test-plan and a build >>is assigned per test case at the time of test case assignment to individual >>tester/users which is having a limitation, in case a new build arrival rate is >>high in such a case the test manager/lead has to re-assign the test cases each >>time a new build has arrived thereby increasing the overhead of re-assigning >>the test-cases with arrival of each build
solution is create build from previous build copying tester assignment
|Thanks fman, got the solution, you can close the bug.|
|Ok, then just to be sure: note 21241 is solution for you ?|
