|Summary||0002118: Custom reporting: creating one huge excel export|
|Description||Many systems use excel to import data. The current project management system in use in my company can import excel sheet containing data pertaining to test campains. The problem is that the data exported by default in any of the current reports in testlink are inadequate as is.|
The requirement is to have a huge excel file with the following:
top: summary of all test executed/results/failures/blocked etc.
Main data with following columns:
Test case title | test case link | Build | test case status | assigned user |Description | Bugs Titles with configurable separators |Bug links with configurable separators | bug status with configurable separators

make available a direct url link to a specific test campaign.
Click this link opens a summary to the test campaign.
Click an expand button on the summary, opens a list of all tests cases pertaining to this campaign with their status / bugs /titles etc.
clicking on any test cases opens the test case with its result/description/notes

the purpose of this dump is to allow integrating test results in systems that allow excel parsing of data.
If all the information is dumped into one excel sheet then all this data can easily be customised in excel for easy parsing by the system.
example: we are using focal point for project management. focal point can allow us to parse an excel sheet and populate its database with data from testling pertaining to a test plan.
As is no export currently avaible allows for an easy import into Focal Point. however if the dump was more "complete" a couple of excel macros later we could have data imported easily.
A cheaper way is use the CSV format instead of excel. We have not integrated excel library. In addition it should work also for OpenOffice Calc.
User could select generated fields in the report.
